Yoga has all the characteristics of a sport, as it tones, strengthens and relaxes the muscles. It a lso develops endurance, balance, stamina and breathing capacities.
However, it would be restrictive to consider only the physical aspect of this millenia-old practice. Although Yoga has been practiced for such an extended period of time, it has remained intact and unaffected, because it acts on several levels of our being, mind-body-spirit. This is what makes its strength and distinguishes it from other disciplines.
